The majority of women requesting breast augmentation have not had children. I don’t feel there is any reason to really delay the surgery if it’s something that you want. Breast implants will not affect your ability to breastfeed or the quality of the breast milk that you produce. The only consideration is whether the pregnancy or breastfeeding could affect the shape of your breast. The reality is it can, regardless of whether you have breast implants or not. But with that said, most women seeking breast implants do not by definition have much breast tissue to start with so the effects are usually minimal. Often the women seeking breast implants after children present with a different set of concerns, such as droopiness or loss of volume. I don’t see many patients who’ve had breast implants who’ve then needed a revision after children.
