Absolutely. Abdominal separation doesn’t always correlate to how much laxity there is in the abdominal wall, so you can have a relatively small amount of separation and the muscle wall can still be loose. You’ll still see a good improvement from tightening and flattening your abdominal wall. In the vast majority of women, we would perform a muscle plication as part of the tummy tuck. Of course, there are other advantages of a tummy tuck beyond just tightening the abdominal wall. We also usually perform liposuction for contouring and of course, remove the excess skin and reposition your belly button.
